But the original Internet architects designed it for sharing…not security. Today, it's a vital part of our daily lives, and as its services are becoming more and more sophisticated – so are fraudsters.

That's why we developed the YubiKey. It's not a Big Brother security thing, but a simple token created for people to be safe online, to protect our identity and keep it safe in our own pocket.

Yubico's mission is to make Internet identification secure, easy and affordable for everyone. Inspired by IKEA and Amazon.com we deliver flat packages of do-it-yourself tools: We sell the YubiKey hardware online and provide you the basic SDK for free, no license cost included. And you can take the basic SDK to build your own full-fledged, customized strong authentication service.

Optionally, to simplify integration, for pilots and for those customers who do not want to run their own validation servers, Yubico offers a basic validation service at a low subscription fee.

The YubiKey can be used today at www.mashedlife.com - a free password manager service and portal for all your Internet activities. The YubiKey can also be used for login to any website supporting OpenID, enabling one YubiKey to be used for an unlimited number of services.

We serve everyone; from the individual user to the large corporation and web community. And with our developer's community we will eventually have all the basic code needed to simplify and secure access to any IT-system or online asset.
