Below is a summary how to use the YubiKey product family with mobile devices.
 

Android without NFC

All YubiKeys can be used with a micro USB adapter to connect to the micro USB port of Android devices.

iPad

All YubiKeys can be used with Apple’s iPad2 via the Camera Connection Kit. The minimized sized YubiKey Nano is designed to fit nicely inside the USB-port of the Camera Connection Kit to make it an integrated part of the device.

YubiKey smart phone application

Yubico is dedicated to provide the highest level of security. We believe that secure two factor authentication needs a physical YubiKey, but we also understand that for some mobile devices, using a physical YubiKey is not an option (yet). As a short term solution we created the YubiApp to be a convenient back-up to a physical YubiKey. YubiApp is a smart phone application designed for Android 2.2 and iPhone/iPad2, offered as a free mobile authentication backup to the YubiKey hardware token. However, YubiApp users must be aware that using a software only app is less secure than using their hardware based YubiKey. YubiApp is currently only available for YubiRADIUS users.

Regarding YubiApp in YubiCloud
Yubico currently only offers YubiApp through YubiRADIUS integration due to that YubiRADIUS servers runs internally to the customers networks, and the organizations administrators can decide who should have access to use the the YubiApp. We will consider the the feasibility to add YubiApp functionality to the YubiCloud as a backup to users physical YubiKeys based on feedback from YubiRADIUS users.
