FIDO Alliance Publishes Final FIDO 1.0 Specifications, First Industry Standards for Universal Strong Authentication

PALO ALTO, CA, DEC. 9, 2014 – Yubico, the leading provider of simple, open online identity protection, today announced that the FIDO Alliance has published final FIDO 1.0 Specifications for universal strong authentication. This final version of the specifications enable all FIDO Alliance members to broadly commercialize FIDO authentication, and non-members to adopt FIDO compliant implementations developed by a FIDO Alliance member.

With today’s launch of the final FIDO 1.0 Specifications, online service providers, enterprises and consumers can all experience the high security, broad industry support, and ease of use from these new open standards.  The YubiKey NEO, NEO-n and FIDO U2F Security Key all support FIDO U2F 1.0 Specifications.
